- What is Takaful Based Examination (TBE)?
Takaful Based Examination (TBE) is an entry qualification for all those who intend to be a registered takaful agent in the financial services industry promoting takaful products and services. - Who is eligible for TBE and what are the requirements?
TBE is open to all Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above with minimum SPM/MCE qualification/certificate or any other relevant equivalent certificate. - Is TBE a written or computer-based examination?
TBE is an online computer-based examination. - Where and how frequent are the exams conducted?
Exams will be conducted in 20 centres nationwide.
Exams will be carried out on weekly basis as follow:Day Time Thursday 10.30 am & 3.30 pm Friday 9.30 am & 3.30 pm Saturday 5.00 pm Sunday 5.00 pm Note: These exams’ schedules are subject to change. Please refer to exam schedule for further details.
- Is there any closing date for TBE registration?
The closing date is generally 2 weeks before the examination date. Kindly refer to the exam schedule for the exam dates.Applicants are advisable to register at the earliest possible date and the registration at a specific examination center for a particular examination will be on 1st come 1st served basis and is limited.
- Can examination be held on non-scheduled dates and timing?
Non-scheduled exams can be conducted for company/batch registration only and are subject to terms and conditions. - Is the paper and pen examination mode still available?
No, the TBE Exam is strictly computer based examination. - I previously failed TBE Exam with MII. What should I do?
Since this TBE exam is based on the new syllabus by MTA, candidates are advised to register as a new candidate. - How much is the fees of the examination?

Yes, you will be provided with an e-book in the system which can be downloaded and printed. Hard copies are available for sale at IBFIM’s Knowledge Management Centre’s Bookshop. - What is an e-Book?
The e-book is an online textbook for TBE purposes. Candidates will get access to the e-book upon registration. The modules in the e-book will be made available according to the type of examination. - How to access the e-Book?
Simply log on to the TBE website www.takafuleexam.com and login using your existing email/login ID and Password. - Can the previous TBE text book still be used?
The new TBE syllabus contains updated information in which the previous text will not provide. - What is the syllabus of TBE?
TBE syllabus can be categorized as below:Part Syllabus Part A Basic Takaful, Medical and Health Takaful Part B General Takaful Part C Family Takaful and Investment-Linked Takaful Plan Please refer to TBE website for a more detailed syllabus.
- Is there any option of language to sit for the TBE Exam?
Yes, the examination is conducted in both English and Bahasa Melayu. - Can I change the examination Centre and exam type once I have registered?
Candidates are advised to be careful in their registration planning process. Request for change of examination center or exam type are not entertained. - Can I withdraw from sitting for the exam after I have registered?
Withdrawal and postponement are not permissible after the closing date. However, candidates may be excused from appearing in a scheduled examination only for serious emergencies such as the following situations:a) Medical grounds (self);
b) Bereavement of parents, spouse or children;
c) Disabling traffic accident;
d) Court appearance (self);
e) Military duty (self).The candidates should notify IBFIM of his/her absence before or within 24 hours after the exam date and time. Should they fail to do so, the fee will be forfeited.
For the stated situations, candidates will be facilitated to defer the examination to another date and time.
- How should the payment be made?
For individual registration, 3 payment options are available namely Direct Debit (FPX), Debit/Credit Card (Visa/Mastercard) and Postal/Money Order.The Postal/Money Order to be made payable to IBFIM-TBE and sent to the following address within seven (7) days after registration:

Candidates are advised to register as an internet banking user before using this payment gateway. Otherwise you may make payment via Postal/Money Order. - What is the registration process for TBE?
Registration is through the TBE website at www.takafuleexam.com or you may go to IBFIM’s website www.ibfim.com and click on the TBE icon. Candidates must ensure the registration details are correctly completed to expedite the registration process. - How to make a single or individual registration?
Takaful Based Examination (TBE) Individual Registration Process:a. Go to www.takafuleexam.comor www.ibfim.com(click the TBE icon)
b. On the TBE website, go to New Registration and click on Individual
c. Enter your I/C number and click Next button
d. Fill up the mandatory * details in the personal information. Once done, click Next button.
e. Note: Your login credentials will be created automatically for e-book access.
f. Your personal details will be displayed. To change or correct the information, you can click on Back button and Reset
g. Fill in the Examination Details. Once done, click Yes button and the examination date you have selected will be displayed. Proceed to choose your examination session.
h. To complete your registration, choose payment method. There are 3 payment options available via Direct Debit (FPX), Debit/Credit Card (VISA/MASTERCARD) and Postal/Money Order. If you have agreed with the selection of venue and payment type, click Yes button. Details of the examination module, date, session and venue will be prompted in a pop-up message. Click OK button to proceed for payment.For Payment by Direct Debit or Debit/Credit Card
a. You will be directed to the secured Online Payment Gateway (PayPal) or FPX to proceed with your payment.
b. Upon completing the payment, you will be prompted with a pop-up notification message (receipt). The notification message should serve as the confirmation of payment and candidate can print out the receipt.
c. A Takaful Basic Examination (TBE) – Confirmation of Registration will be sent to candidate’s email.For Payment by Postal/Money Order:
a. The Postal/Money Order is to be made payable to IBFIM-TBE and sent to the following address within seven (7) days after registration:IBFIM

c. Once the Postal/Money Order cleared, Takaful Basic Examination (TBE)Confirmation of Registration will be emailed to you. - I would like to register in group. How to do a group registration?
Takaful Based Examination (TBE) Company/Batch Registration Process:a. Go to www.takafuleexam.comor www.ibfim.com(click the TBE icon).
b. On the TBE website, go to New Registration and click on Company.
c. Fill up the Batch Application Details. Once done, click Next button.
d. Create your Batch Login Details. Enter your preferred Login ID and Password. Also fill in a security question and answer for forgot password purposes and click Save button.
e. System will display the Takaful Basic Examination (TBE)-Confirmation of Registration. Note down yourLogin ID, Password, Security Question and answer for your future use. Click Home button to go back to TBE main page.
f. On the TBE main page, the Batch/Group contact can login using the credentials created earlier.
g. Upon entering the LMS (Learning Management System), choose the New Application and click Next button.
h. Fill up the required details i.e. Course (exam type), Number of Candidates and Mode of Payment. Once done, click Save button.
i. For Batch/Group registration, payment can be done by either Cheque/Money Order/Postal Order, Direct Debit and Debit/Credit Card.For Payment by Cheque/Postal/Money Order:
a. The Cheque/Postal Order/Money Order to be made payable to IBFIM-TBE and sent to the following address within fourteen (14) days after issuance of invoice:

c. Upon clearance of payment, a confirmation notification email will be sent to contact’s email together with aRegister ID.For Payment by Direct Debit or Debit/Credit Card

c. Upon completion of payment, a confirmation notification email will be sent to contact’s email together with a Register ID.
d. Company/Batchcontact person can now login into the TBE website (www.takafuleexam) and required to key-in the Register ID to get access to the Batch Application System. The contact person must fill in the details of each candidate including Exam Date, Venue and Session and ensure that all information is complete and correct.
e. Upon successful registration, the Takaful Basic Examination (TBE) – Confirmation of Registration will be emailed to the candidates. - What should I bring to the examination centre?
Please remember to bring the Takaful Basic Examination (TBE) – Confirmation of Registration together with NRIC, original/certified true copies of SPM or relevant qualifications and calculator to the examination centre. Candidates will not be allowed to take the examination if they failed to produce the above documents. Candidates who have not received the Takaful Basic Examination (TBE)- Confirmation of Registration 3 days after registration date should contact IBFIM immediately. - Can I postpone the examination dates?
IBFIM generally will not accept any request to reschedule the examination. However in some emergency cases, rescheduling is permissible under the following situations:a. Medical Grounds (Self)
b. Bereavement of Parents, Spouse or Children
c. Disabling traffic accidents
d. Court Appearance (self)
e. Military Duty (self)In such cases, candidates are required to inform his/her absence before/within 24 hours after the exam date and time. Failure to inform IBFIM in writing will result in forfeiture of the exam fee.
- What is the passing mark of the exam and is there room for appeal?
The passing mark for the exam is 55%. The result is computer generated and available immediately after the exam, without any provision for appeal. - What do I get upon completing the examination?
Successful candidates will be issued certificate of completion by IBFIM one (1) month after the examination date. Candidates are required to collect the certificate at IBFIM. - When can I get my examination results and certificate?
Results are generated immediately once candidate completes the examination by pressing submit button - What should I do, if I fail?
Candidates are advised to re-register for the next examination. - What if the candidates failed again?
There is no limit for candidates to enroll / register for TBE Examination. - Whom should I contact in matters related to TBE?
